In Recognition of 100 Years of Sons of Norway in CDA & the First International Sons of Norway Convention staged in Idaho. August 29-Sep. 1, 2010.

THE PUBLIC IS CORDIALLY INVITED TO JOIN US IN THE MANY OPEN EVENTS DESIGNED TO HIGHLIGHT SCANDINAVIAN AMERICAN CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY, TO CELEBRATE THE CENTENNIAL OF THE LOCAL LODGE AND TO WELCOME SONS OF NORWAY MEMBERS FROM ALL OVER THE U.S., CANADA AND NORWAY.

Apr 1-Oct 31 Nordic Roots Run Deep. Museum Of North Idaho. Local Scandinavian heritage on display. See information on back re dates for special demonstrations & exhibits.

Aug 02-Sep 03 Scandinavian Books & Cultture, CDA Public Library, Lower Level.

Aug 04, 11, 18, 25 Scandinavian Story Hour, August Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m., stories from Denmark, Finland, Norway & Sweden. CDA Library.

Aug 23-Sep 03 Window Into Norway. Display of Norwegian books and artifacts. Molstead Library, NIC Campus.

Aug 29-Sep 01 SONS OF NORWAY INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION 2010, CDA Resort. Only elected delegates speak at meetings or vote on issues. Several events open to public. They are listed in this publication.

Aug 29 A Century of Cars. Mini Car Show covering 100 years, Circular Parking Lot by Clock Tower, CDA Resort. Noon to 7 p.m. Museum open 1-3:30. Fjord Horses (back side)

Aug 30-Sep 1 Norwegian Folk Art Exhibit. CDA Resort, room near Dockside. Handmade crafts by Sons of Norway members including Rosemaling, woodcarving, Hardanger Embroidery and more. 8/30, noon to 7 p.m.; 8/31, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; 9/01, 8 a.m.-noon.

Aug 30 Hiking With Vikings: A Centennial Trail Trek.
Any distance along Lake CDA & Spokane River starting at CDA Resort. Joint Centennial Celebration for local Sons of Norway Lodge & Boys Scouts of America. Registration 6-7 p.m. or online at www.sofn2-011.org. $5 fee includes patch featuring Viking Ship. Scout Alumni, Convention Delegates, friends and families all welcome.

Aug 31 Local Scandinavian Authors. Community Room , CDA Library, 2 p.m. Keith Dahlberg, Yvonne Deitz, Susan Hagen Nipp, Sheila Wood. Glimpse their lives & their stories. Children welcome; separate activities first half, all join in 2nd half. Scandinavian Coffee & Cookies follow. Books for sale.

Aug 31 Mudgy & Millie Walk, 3:45 p.m., Statue #2 outside CDA Library, Goody Bags and Moose Memos at statue stops with required registration (no fee).

Aug 31 Variety Show, CDA Resort, 7:30 p.m. Rod Erickson, Bressler Trio, Julie Powell. & more. $15. Reservations, 773-4401. Tickets at door if still available.
