Join us Friday, August 20th, 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Boundary Community Hospital, for a 2-hour Elder Abuse training opportunity to view and discuss "A Mother Never Gives Up Hope: Older Mothers and Abusive Adult Sons". Please use the upstairs entrance and take elevator downstairs to the classroom.
Please share this with your folks who serve the older population. Good information for nurses, physical therapists, law enforcement, social workers, senior companions.
The video presents the stories of four older women who had been abused by their adult sons. Each individual describes their stories, touching on the emotions felt, as well as how they dealt with the abuse. The women are followed over the course of two years to see how their relationships with their sons have evolved. Each segment will be followed by a discussion & question period looking at the dynamics in each situation.
The training is hosted & facilitated by Callie Weatherford Ketner, North Idaho Violence Prevention Center and Tamina Boonisar, Area Agency on Aging of North Idaho.
Please RSVP by Wednesday, August 18th. Walk-ins welcome. For more information or to RSVP, contact Callie Weatherford-Ketner @ 208-946-1521 or wcbonner@cdawomenscenter.org.
